The civilians entering illegally from Syria fired shots at the Turkish troops after being warned not to move. In a statement posted on its website, the TSK said Turkish troops detected a group of eight civilians on Monday at 5:30 p.m. as they were attempting to enterTurkeyillegally. The civilians fired shots at the Turkish troops after being warned not to move. A skirmish then erupted between the groups when the Turkish side returned fire.
As a result of the incident, one person from the group died, the TSK's statement said.
