IRNA - Data shows that non-oil exports from Iran to Indonesia in the first nine-month period of this (Persian) year have jumped up 217 percent compared to the last year, an Iranian official said on Wednesday.

Business attach� of the Iranian embassy to Kuala Lumpur Anvar Kamari told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) that the value of Iran's non-oil exports to Indonesia in the nine-month period leading to the end of November 2017 reached 400 million dollars.

Citing the data provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, he said that the figure has risen to 78.5 percent and 217 percent respectively in terms of weight and value, compared to the past year's statistics.

According to the data, metals and metallic products with an export value of 195 million dollar have been on top of Iran's exports to Indonesia, he said.

Among the metals, 182 million dollars of iron and steel have been exported to Indonesia in the given period that shows 874 percent growth in value, and 776 percent in weight, compared to the same period of the previous year, the official said.

Also, export of plastic products, rugs, textiles and chemicals from Iran to Indonesia has been increased compared to the last year.

Meanwhile, during the same period, imports from Indonesia have been decreased from 151 million dollars to 115 million dollars, showing a 23-percent decrease in value and 50-percent in weight.

Minerals with 70 percent decrease were among imports from Indonesia.

He forecasted that the trade between Iran and Indonesia will reach 700 million dollars by the end of the Persian year (March 21, 2018).
