TEHRAN, Oct. 01 (MNA) A total of 22,000 will be awarded to winners in the 32nd edition of Tehran International Short Film Festival.
The running body of Tehran International Short Film Festival announced that more than 3600 short filmsfrom 108 countries have been submitted to the festival so far.
The jury has chosen 97 out of all submitted films to vie in the course of the 32nd edition of the festival in Tehran.
In the International section of the event, the best short will be prized 5000 in addition to the special Statuette of the festival.
Also the best animation, the best drama, the best documentary, and the best experimental works will be awarded each 2500 in addition to the special Statuette of the festival.
The special section of the world without violence and extremism will be awarded with 3000, and the best work of Muslim directors 2000 in addition to the special Statuette of the festival, the same with the best of Asian directors.
Organized by the Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS), the festival is held to evaluate and introduce the best productions of Iran and other countries, foster young short film makers, promote film education and provide an opportunity for international exchange through cultural activities.
The Iranian Youth Cinema Society produces some 1800 short films every year many of which have been screened in a number of international festivals.
The 32nd Tehran International Short Film Festival is set to kick off on November 11 and will run through November 17, 2015.
