Is Iran going to burn mazut to supply power to electric cars?

Import of electric cars postponed to next year

Speaking to The Iran Project, Peyman Molavi, an economic expert, warned about the danger of burning mazut to supply electricity to electric cars.

The important issue is the energy supply for these cars, which is very worrying considering the country's electricity situation, he stated.

The Ministry of Energy has to burn mazut to supply the country's electricity needs and the use of electric cars may encourage more electricity consumption and as a result burning more mazut, the expert stressed.

According to The Iran Project, the use of electric cars today is considered a great advantage, especially in developed countries. Their low maintenance and costs, and reduction of air pollution and other environmental pollutants are the most important advantages of these cars.
