Kerman twin bombings, Iran's worst terror attacks in 4 decades

 
Medical services said the death toll is expected to rise as some of the injured are in critical condition.
 
The first explosion occurred some 700 meters from the grave of General Soleimani and the second one about one kilometer away, IRNA reported.

Tasnim quoted an unnamed source as saying that two briefcases loaded with explosives were remotely detonated in the middle of the crowd.
 
It should be noted that 23,000 Iranian civilians have been killed in terrorist attacks over the last four decades.
 
Also, Iran’s Red Crescent Society announced that three rescuers were killed by the second blast.

Reacting to the deadly terrorist attacks, Iran’s leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has vowed a crushing response to those behind Wednesday’s bombing in Kerman.
 
Cruel criminals must understand that the soldiers of [General Qassem] Soleimani’s path do not tolerate their vileness and crime and they must know that they will be harshly dealt with from now on and a fair punishment awaits them”. “This heinous act will provoke a firm response”, the leader underscored.

Also, the Iranian government declared a day of national mourning over terrorist explosions in Iran's southern city of Kerman in which over 100 people lost their lives.

In a statement, the Iranian government said that Iran will observe Thursday as public mourning across the country over the martyrdom of tens of Iranian civilians.

In another relevant development, the heads of state have extended condolences to Iran over the twin deadly explosions.

Russia, Turkey, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iraq, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, the European Union, and the UN were among those who robustly decried the two blasts in Iran’s city of Kerman.
