Rouhani calls for regional peace, stability
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has underscored the necessity of establishing peace and stability in the region.
The Iranian president made the remarks in a meeting with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah in Tehran on Sunday, saying, Undoubtedly, the security and stability of the region is the first condition for the expansion of relations and cooperationamong countries.

Referring to problems in some regional countries particularly Syria and Iraq, Rouhani said, All regional countries should help for the establishment of peace and security in these regions.

Rouhani further stated that extremism and violence are among the reasons behind the destabilization of the region, saying all regional states should join forces to fight terrorism and extremism and try to strengthen the unity among Muslim nations.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to interact and cooperate with all regional countries, especially Kuwait, to enhance the regions stability and security," Rouhani said.
The Kuwaiti emir, for his part, highlighted the necessity of cooperation between regional countries to remove problems of the region, noting, All Islamic countries standing by each other should cooperate for the unity of the Islamic countries.

The Kuwaiti Emir arrived in the Iranian capital earlier on Sunday for a landmark two-day visit to discuss key bilateral and regional issues including developments in Syria and Iraq.

Sheikh Sabah is making his first visit to Iran as head of state at the head of a high-level delegation, comprised of the ministers of foreign affairs, oil, finance, commerce and industry in addition to other senior officials.

Sheikh Sabah said the Kuwaiti delegation is determined to develop economic, cultural and political cooperation with Iran.

He is visiting the Islamic Republic upon an official invitation by Irans President Rouhani.
