TEHRAN May 31 (Shana)--Tehran has finalized a deal to export liquid fuel to Kabul and is currently negotiating a similar deal with the neighboring Iraq, said an Iranian oil industry official.
The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC), Mostafa Kashkouli, said Saturday that Iran has so far cemented deals with Iraq and Afghanistan for the export of Iranian liquid fuel.�

He said it has finalized a deal with Kabul in this regard and will start exporting its surplus liquid fuel to the country in the near future.�

He added terminals in southern Iran are ready to handle exports to other countries subsequent to Petroleum Minister Bijan Zanganeh's stress on ending liquid fuel consumption in the power plants.�

The excessive liquid fuel oil of Isfahan, Arak and Tehran is currently being transferred to Bandar Abbas and Mahshahr, he said. �

Kashkouli had previously said that Iran's neighboring states like Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are potential markets for Iranian liquid fuel.�

He said by the time new phases of the giant South Pars gas field come on stream, a lump of 100 mcm/d of natural gas will be added to the current gas output of the country which will dramatically diminish liquid fuel consumption in power plants.�

Kashkouli added that Iran is planning to export its excessive liquid fuel to other countries after the South Pars phases are operational.

The consumption of liquid fuel by Iranian power plants has decreases at least a billion liters since last year which can be seen as an opportunity for the country to export the fuel to other countries, added Kashkouli.
