Moscow, May 23, IRNA � Iran?s Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan and his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu discussed issues of mutual interest here on Friday on the sidelines of the Third International Security Conference.
��In the meeting, the two sides underlined necessity of making efforts to develop defensive cooperation between the two countries.
Shoygu said presence of Iran?s defense minister in the confab is an important event, adding that issues which are proposed in the confab are very important for security and stability in the countries of the region.

The two sides referred to the meeting between Iran and Russian presidents in China 2 days ago and their emphasis on necessity of making efforts to give more dynamism to relations between the two countries especially in defensive field.

Shoygu proposed that bilateral cooperation be considered in his meeting with Dehghan, especially those which have special importance for bilateral ties.

Referring to the issue of of colour revolutions in the confab, Shoygu called them as an effective challenge in international security, which regional countries are facing.

Dehqan, for his part, explained causes of colour revolutions in different countries, which are a concern for the world security and stability.

The reality is that wherever a country in the world is trying for its independence, the US government creates problems, he added.

Of course, the approach comes from the US imperialistic nature that wants to impose its superiority everywhere, Dehqan continued.

He also invited his Russian counterpart to pay a visit to Iran and said that such a visit will strengthen bilateral relations.

The Third International Security Conference kicked off here on Friday.

More than 300 representatives from military bodies and international organizations as well as experts and officials from more than 40 countries are attending the 2-day confab.

Latest developments in the Middle East and North Africa as well as colour revolutions are among main issues to be discussed in the confab.

In addition, Ukraine developments and expansion of US missile shield in Europe will also be discussed.
