Iran refusal to budge brought West to negotiations: Rouhani

Iran refusal to budge brought West to negotiations: Rouhani
Irans President Hassan Rouhani says the resistance of the Iranian nation has made the world realize that the country will not capitulate to pressure and sanctions.
Rouhani made the remarks in an address to a crowd during a tour of the Ilam Province in western Iran on Wednesday, saying the resistance of the nation has led the world to adopt the approach of "negotiation" toward the Islamic Republic.

Rouhani said the world has admitted that the way to interact with Iran is not through pressure and coercion and has adopted an approach which is based on negotiation, logic, dialog and compromise."

The Iranian president further pointed to the problems created by illegal sanctions against the Islamic Republic by the US, saying the problems will be removed through the support of the nation.
All should try to remove the problems, he added.
Rouhani also referred to Irans progress in different areas, stressing that the status of the Islamic Republic has specifically improved in terms of foreign policy.

Iran's foreign relations have improved following an interim deal between Tehran and six world powers over the Islamic Republics nuclear energy program in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013.

Since the conclusion of the agreement, foreign ministers of Italy, Austria, Sweden and Poland have visited Iran and discussed further cooperation.

Pointing to the Western nuclear accusations against Iran, Rouhani said Iran's power of logic and diplomacy has compelled the very same people making such claims to acknowledge the baseless nature of their allegations.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council Russia, China, France, Britain and the US plus Germany wrapped up their latest round of high-level nuclear talks in Vienna on April 9.

The two sides sealed an interim deal in the Swiss city of Geneva on November 24, 2013 which took effect on January 20.
