SHIRAZ, April 28 (MNA) The incumbent Director-General of UNESCO has said the organization will participate in Persepolis repair and maintenance.Irina Bokova, who was visiting southern province of Shiraz, attended in a dinner feast by Fars provincial governor yesterday (Sunday).
Bokova told the reporters that UNESCO would help in repair and maintenance of Persepolis, the provinces main historical monument complex. The historical relics in Fars province are indicative of a great civilization in ancient Iran, Bokova added.
She also pointed to her visits to other historical monument, the tomb of Hafiz, Irans famous 14thcentury poet and literary genius and hoped to visit also Saeediyeh complex, since, I have been told much about the complex.
Irina Bokovas visits to Shiraz will end morning today and she will leave Shiraz for Tehran.
