Iranian cartoonist Kambiz Derambakhsh[/caption]Leading Iranian cartoonist, Kambiz Derambakhshs several works are to put on display at the Modern Art Museum and the Nicolas Flamel Gallery in France.
Modern Art Museum in Paris has programmed to showcase a selection of works by the famous artists from 1960 to the present. Irans Derambakhsh is also among the selected artist whose four works will go on display.
The artists nine works will be also showcased at the Nicolas Flamel Gallery concurrent with the exhibition of his works in Modern Art Museum.
Born in 1942, Derambakhsh is a veteran cartoonist, graphic designer and illustrator whose works are housed at many Iranian and international art centers and museums such as the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, Basel Museum of Caricatures, Hiroshima Museum of Japan, Anti-War Museum of Yugoslavia, Istanbul Museum of Cartoons, Warsaw Museum of Caricatures and Frankfurt Municipality Hall.
He has written and compiled a number of books, including Without Words published in Iran and Kambiz published in Italy.
Michel Lafon Publishing in France also released a selection of works created by Derambakhsh over the past 35 years in the form of a book in 2013.
Derambakhsh is known for his talent to find obscure themes for his creations and has received many awards at international competitions including the grand prize of Japans Yomiuri Shimbun competition in 1998.
He was also awarded in international contests held in Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil, Germany, Yugoslavia and Italy, and honored during the closing ceremony of the 25th edition of the Aydin Dogan International Cartoon Competition in Istanbul in 2008.
