New York, March 15, IRNA � Iran?s Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Gholam-Hossein Dehqani renewed Iran?s support for a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
?Iran has always reiterated since the beginning of unrests in Syria that the Muslim country?s crisis does not have a military solution and the only solution is a comprehensive political agreement,? Dehqani said, addressing the UN General Assembly?s meeting on Friday.

He also underlined that the UN plays an important role in settling the Syrian crisis, and said, ?The UN officials should help in finding a political solution to the crisis while maintaining their impartiality.?

?Iran?s efforts have taken place on the basis of cooperation with the Syrian government, the opposition political groups and UN officials and the latest example o such was trilateral meeting between Iran, Syrian and Switzerland in late 2013 with the aim of dealing with Syria?s conditions from humanitarian perspective,? he added.
