Kabul, March 9, IRNA � Iranian Embassy to Afghanistan, in a letter of condolence on Sunday to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, expressed sympathy with the Afghan people and government on the death of First Vice-President Mohammad Qasim Fahim.
The statement hailed the role of late Qasim Fahim in resistance to foreign aggression.

The Iranian Embassy honored memory of the Afghan first vice-presuident for his efforts to maintain the country?s freedom and independence and to reconstruct the country in the past four decades of Afghanistan?s history.

The Afghan Vice-President passed away early Sunday of a heart attack at the age of 56.
