The Secretary-General met with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mr. Javad Zarif, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference today.
They discussed the situation in Syria, in particular the Geneva peace talks, and the Iranian nuclear programme. The Secretary-General welcomed the Minister's assurances that Iran would play its part in the search for a political solution to the Syria conflict.
