Khorramshahr, Khuzestan Prov, Jan 16, IRNA � Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday that Khorramshahr and Abadan in this southern province will be declared as free trade zones in near future.

President, who is on the third day of his tour of Khuzestan province, made the remarks while addressing an a crowd of enthusiastic people here.


Khorramshahr, he said, should be turned into the ?trade pearl? of the region.

By developing Arvand zone near Khorramshahr, Basra in southern Iraq will consequently be developed, said the President.

Prior to his Khorramshahr visit, Rouhani met with oil officials in the city of Darkhivin, 70 km south of Ahvaz in Khuzestan.
