Beirut, Jan 12, IRNA Iranian foreign minister arrived in Lebanese capital city, Beirut, late Sunday night on the first leg of his regional tour of four countries at the top of a political and parliamentary delegation.

Zarif who is in Lebanon on an official invitation extended by his Lebanese counterpart, Adnan Mansour, was received in Beirut International Airport by a number of Lebanese officials, the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi, and the heads of the Iranian organizations in Lebanon.

The Lebanese, regional, and world media reporters were in the airport to cover Zarifs arrival.

This is the new Iranian foreign ministers first visit of Lebanon in this capacity.

The Iranian top diplomat is scheduled to visit Iraq, Jordan and Syria in continuation of his regional tour.

Zarif had earlier in his visits of the regional countries travelled to Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Emirates, Qatar and Turkey.

The Lebanese foreign minister had earlier told IRNA that Zarif will in addition to meeting President Michel Suleiman and Prime Minister Tamam Salam who is commissioned to establish a new government, meet and confer with the Parliament Speaker Nabih Berry and some other Lebanese officials and personalities.

Talks on bilateral relations and implementing the signed bilateral agreements, regional and international cooperation, the Syrian crisis and the Geneva II International Peace Conference that is commissioned to seek a political solution to that crisis are among the axes of the discussions between Zarif and top Lebanese officials.

Zarif will be informed about the outcome of the surveys on the November 28 criminal terrorist act in front of the Islamic Republic of Iran Embassy in Beirut that led to martyrdom of 55 innocent civilians, including the Iranian cultural attach Hojjatoleslam Ebrahim Ansari, the wife of an Iranian diplomat, and four guards of the Iranian embassy were among the 25 martyrs of the terrorist attack which also injured 150 people.

The Iranian foreign minister will also pursue the arrest and suspicious death cause of the top Saudi terrorist ring leader, Majed al-Majed.

The Saudi terrorist chief had been arrested in Lebanon, but shortly later found dead in a military hospital in Beirut.

Many Lebanese politicians and media called al-Majeds death, whose body was delivered to Saudi officials afterwards, quite suspicious.

An Iranian delegation of judiciary officials and lawyers, too, are scheduled to visit Lebanon later this week to further survey the matter more painstakingly.
