Patrick Blain: IKCO seeks int'l cooperation

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran has a great potential in car production and Iran Khodro can initiate proper cooperation with famous carmakers," said the President of the of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle (OICA) Patrick Blain during a visit with IKCO CEO Hashem Yekeh Zareh.
Referring to the production target of 3 million cars in Iran, Patrick Blain said this could also bring about more job vacancies in the country. According to Blain, presence in global car markets demands knowing the rules and it definitely needs long term planning.

"Iran is able to rank in the top ten countries in producing cars in the years to come," he said.

In the meantime, IKCO CEO asserted that his company would continue cooperation with its partners, and would seek new ones as well.

"We dont expect to reach our export goals in a short time," said Yekeh Zareh and added, "we feel responsible regarding supplying our foreign customers' needs and we will take into account the rules of our target countries."

Referring to IKCO's plan for product quality improvement and meeting global standards, Yekeh Zareh noted, "Iranian car making companies enjoy state of the art technology, however a successful presence in the world markets calls for precise and proper planning."
