Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani is to submit the next year budget bill to Majlis on Sunday (December 8), it was announced here on Wednesday.
Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Majid Ansari added that the President will attend Majlis open session on Sunday to submit the bill for the next Iranian calendar year, to begin on March 21, 2014.


According to reports, the Parliament has postponed its next week vacation to discuss the bill.

The MPs must first approve the generalities of the draft national budget bill, and then they will commence work on examination of the details of the articles in parliamentary committees. The process may last for a few weeks.

The specialized committees will review the lawmaker?s suggestions and give a report to Majlis Budget Integration Committee within 10 days.

The committee must discuss the bill within 15 days and present its final report to Majlis.

The ratified bill will be sent to the Guardian Council, the approval of which is needed for the bill to become a law.
