IRGC forces thwart several suicide attempts in S. Western Iran, says General

TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian military official reiterated that the IRGC forces has managed to thwart series of suicide attacks in southeastern city of Zabol, Sistan and Balouchestan Province.
Head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Public Relations Department Brigadier General Ramezan Sharifsaid the IRGC Ground Forces arrested terrorists before their arrival at the intended place for conducting terrorist attacks.

He added the forces foiled 12 cases of terrorist attempts.

Sharif also referred to the assassination of Zabol's prosecutor which came a few weeks ago, and reiterated that, "Some media launched smear campaign to show that Zabol's prosecutor assassination has been conducted by terrorist operatives to make a rift between Shiites and Sunnis."

He added the IRGC has found out that the operatives arrested following the attack have had nothing to do with the terrorists and enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, but smugglers have been behind the assassination.
