Twenty six members of Iranian parliament have expressed negative reaction towards Islamic Republic president's remarks in New York, Mehr reported.

Ahmadinejad's statements are "incopatible with dignity, strategy, policy and wisdom of the Islamic Republic", the parliament members said.

Reportedly, the members of the parliament will issue a protest regarding Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statements that he made on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly.

Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with U.S. universities' students and academicians and said that Iran-US relations should be improved, president's official website reported earlier today.

"I am among those that believe the situation between two great, powerful countries, Iran and U.S. can be improved," Ahmadinejad said. "Had the relations between Iran and U.S. been better throughout 33 years, the situation would have been different today."

Iranian president said what he believes would be the steps to take for normalizing the relations between Iran and the United States.

"If the U.S. start trusting Iran, will not threaten it, will accept the fact that Islamic Republic's nuclear program continues, and will fix the financial issues, then would be a way for stabilizing the bilateral relations," Iran's president noted.
