The Islamic Republic of Iran has exported over $21 billion of non-oil commodities in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21) despite the US-engineered sanctions against the country.
According to the latest data released by the Iranian Customs Administration on Friday, Iran exported $21.162 billion of non-oil goods, including gas condensates, during the seven-month period, marking a 7.5 percent rise in weight and a 15 percent decline in value compared to the corresponding period last year. The non-oil exports weighed 49.325 million tons.

Iran also imported $24.056 billion worth of goods weighing 16 million tons in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year.

The figures show a 32.5 percent decline in weight and a 24.8 percent fall in value in the import of non-oil commodities.

Iran exported iron ore valued at $747 million, urea valued at $688 million and methanol, also known as methyl alcohol, valued at $671 million in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year. The three commodities were Iran's main export products, excluding gas condensates and petrochemical products.

Iran also exported $3.926 billion of gas condensates, $5.592 billion of petrochemical products, and 11.644 billion of other goods during the seven-month period.

China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Afghanistan were the main importers of non-oil products from Iran. They imported goods from Iran valued at $3.625 billion, $3.415 billion, $2.058 billion, $1.513 billion, and $1.454 billion respectively during the mentioned period.

Iran imported $1.464 billion of rice, $917 million of soy meal, $655 million of wheat, $581 million of corn fodder, and $521 million of vehicles in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, and these commodities were Iran's main import products.

The United Arab Emirates exported goods valued at $4.9 billion to Iran during the seven-month period, making it the leading exporter of non-oil products to Iran. It was followed by China, India, South Korea, and Turkey, which exported goods valued at $4.623 billion, $2.269 billion, $2.046 billion, and $2.028 billion respectively.
