Irans FM to meet French counterpart: France

France says Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is set to meet with his French counterpart during an official visit to Paris next week.
On Thursday, French Foreign Ministry spokesman Philippe Lalliot said the meeting will be held on November 5, adding that Zarif and Frances Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will discuss issues of mutual interest.

Lalliot further noted that Zarifs visit is in the framework of the 37th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in its permanent headquarters in France.

Zarif will depart Tehran for Paris on November 4, and is slated to deliver a speech at the international event as a special guest.

Irans foreign minister has been invited to the conference by UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova to attend Leaders Forum, which will be discussing long-term strategic policies of the UN agency for the upcoming years.

The 37th session of the General Conference of UNESCO will open in Paris on November 5, and will conclude its work on November 20.

After the Paris visit, Zarif will leave for Geneva, where the next round of negotiations between Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain -- plus Germany will be held over Tehrans nuclear energy program on November 7-8.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the two sides wrapped up their expert-level negotiations at the UN office in the Austrian capital Vienna.

Iran and the six world powers wrapped up two days of nuclear talks in Geneva on October 16.

The US, Israel, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran rejects the allegation, arguing that as a committed signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

In addition, the IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities but has never found any evidence showing that the Iranian nuclear program has been diverted toward military objectives.
