Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has left Tehran for New York on Saturday for the U.N. General Assembly�for delivering Iranian nation message to reform global governance.

Before leaving Tehran to attend the U.N. General Assembly meeting,�Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told reporters at the Mehr Abad airport that nowadays, everyone knows that without having influence on the international arena, it's not possible to move towards progress and prosperity, especially where communication has been more widespread globally and people's life is mostly affected by interactions with other nations.

In the world today, we cannot say that we have nothing to do with elsewhere in the world, if we do not, others deal with us and come to us, he added.

Ahmadinejad, as the rotating President of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), also told reporters he would be stressing issues raised in an Iran-hosted summit of non-aligned nations, particularly on U.N. reform "and solving regional issues, including Syria... putting an end to the violence there."

On the other hand, Mohammad Ali Sobhani Iran's former ambassador to Lebanon criticized the indeterminable frameworks of Ahmadinejad's slogan of global governance and his performance in the previous trips to New York that has had nothing but undermining our relations with other countries.

Referring to the president's past speeches in the U.N. General Assembly meetings, Sobhani affirmed that due to indeterminable priorities and not observing proper literature in diplomatic relations, not only�they were not of interest to our nation, but made our diplomacy and foreign policies decline in these years.

Ahmadinejad's speech this year was keenly awaited in the face of Iran�s sharp differences with the U.N. Security Council over its controversial nuclear program, and Israeli threats to launch pre-emptive strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

In his last visit to attend a UN General Assembly meeting as Iran's president, Ahmadinejad was accompanied by a delegation comprising Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and several close aides, among them chief of staff Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei and Vice President Hamid Baqaei.
