An American columnist says Washington and Islamabad should reach a clear deal which can be made public over the US drone attacks in Pakistan.
�Well I think the United States and Pakistan need to reach an agreement over what is ok and what is not ok,� said Brent Budowsky, referring to the controversial drone attacks on Pakistani soil.

The White House which has increased the number of drone operations during the Obama presidency says they are aimed at killing militants. Local media reports, however, say the strikes have killed a large number of civilians including women and children.

Budowsky made the remarks as experts at the United Nations urged Washington to be more transparent about the deadly attacks.

�The first thing is there needs to be a clear and public agreement� between the two countries, said Budowsky in an interview with Press TV.

�Once the United States and Pakistan have publically and clearly agreed or not agreed it would be appropriate to raise the issue at the UN and let other countries and the world know exactly where it stands,� he continued.

Islamabad has recently increased its diplomatic efforts to end the strikes.

During a United Nations General Assembly rights committee debate, Pakistan�s UN ambassador complained that Pakistani civilians have suffered �inhumane� deaths by the US drone attacks and called on Washington to immediately end the program.

�In Pakistan, all drone strikes are a chilling reminder that reprisal strikes by terrorists are around the corner,� said Masood Khan.
