Iran, UAE vow to broaden security cooperation
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his counterpart form the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Tariq Ahmad al-Heidan, in a meeting in Tehran, held talks on ways to further expand mutual cooperation between the two friendly states, specially in safeguarding Persian Gulf's peace and tranquility.

During their meeting on Tuesday, Amir Abdollahian and Heidan stressed the need for collective efforts from regional countries to maintain security of the Persian Gulf.

Heidan praised Tehrans positive measures to reinvigorate region's stability and security through strengthening cooperation and interaction among the Persian Gulf littoral states.

Both of the officials called for further cooperation among regional states to this end.

In July, former Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahayan in a telephone conversation discussed bilateral ties.

Iran attaches importance to strengthening ties with the Middle-East's countries in a bid to maintain security in the region.

Salehi had also earlier this year underlined the importance of close cooperation among the Persian Gulf countries in order to maintain regional security and stability.
