Geneva, Oct 16, IRNA � Iran and Britain agreed on the sidelines of the ongoing negotiations in Geneva to introduce their charge d�affairs within two weeks.
The agreement was reached during a meeting of Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, and his British counterpart, Simon Gass, in Geneva on Wednesday.

Tehran and London agreed to appoint non-resident charge d�affairs on October 8, following a British Foreign Minister William Hague�s telephone talk with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

In 2011, a number of Iranian students stormed the British Embassy in Tehran in protest to British government�s policies and London called back its diplomats from Iran, in return.

After President Rouhani won Iran�s presidential elections in June, British Prime Minister David Cameroon congratulated Rohani on the election.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif conferred with the Hague on the sidelines of the 68th United Nations General Assembly, in which they assigned their deputies, Majid Takht-Rawanchi and Simon Gass, to examine the issue of promoting ties.
