PSEEZ: Iran's condensates exports exceed 4mln in 5 months

TEHRAN (FNA)- Director-General of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) Ahmad Pourheidar said that Iran exported over 4mln tons of gas condensates during the last 5 months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2013).

Iran has exported over 4 million tons of gas condensates worth $10.552 billion from Pars Special Energy Economic Zone (PSEEZ) in Assalouyeh in the last 5 months, Pourheidar said Wednesday.

He said that the figure shows a 19 percent growth in terms of weight and a 35 percent growth in terms of value compared to the corresponding period last year.

The PSEEZ Customs Office has imported 103,376 tons of goods worth $833 million, most of which was equipment required by refineries and petrochemical complexes, he added.

The Pars Special Economic Energy Zone was established in 1988 for the utilization of South Pars oil and gas resources and encouraging commercial activities in the field of oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

South Pars gas field is a natural gas condensate field located in the Persian Gulf. It is the world's largest gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the field holds an estimated 1,800 trillion cubic feet (51 trillion cubic meters) of in-situ natural gas and some 50 billion barrels (7.9 billion cubic meters) of natural gas condensate.
