In his meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, both sides expressed their determination to expand mutual relations in all arenas. They also discussed regional and international issues, including efforts necessary to prevent the elimination of Palestine.

Bilateral ties and regional issues were also among the topics discussed by Araqchi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Iran’s top diplomat referred to “dangerous developments” taking place in Syria, saying that insecurity and instability in that country would only serve the interests of Israel and would pave the way for terrorist and extremist groups to exploit the situation.

Araqchi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, during their meeting, rejected any plan aimed at forcibly displacing the people of Gaza and advancing the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. The two ministers emphasized the need for further solidarity of Islamic countries with the Palestinian people in an effort to bring an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.

Araqchi arrived at Jedda Airport on Thursday to participate in the 20th Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC member states.
