According to The Iran Project, In a statement on Saturday, Esmaeil Baqaei denounced France’s move as a clear example of supporting terrorism and violating the French government’s international legal obligations to prevent and fight terror.

He referred to the history of terrorist acts by the MKO terrorist organization, which have killed thousands of innocent Iranians and injured thousands more. Baqaei also recalled the group's collaboration with Saddam's regime during the eight-year military aggression against Iran, the ministry’s website reported.

The spokesperson described the continued presence and activities of the MKO terrorist group in France as a violation of France's international legal obligations under relevant international treaties related to combating terrorism and UN Security Council Resolution 1373.

He stated that this situation contradicts “the fundamental principles of international law regarding friendly relations and cooperation among states based on the UN Charter."

Baqaei emphasized that France's leniency and selective approach towards terrorism is an "illegal act" that creates international responsibility for the French government and is completely deplorable and unacceptable morally and human rights-wise.

He described granting permission to a terrorist group to hold a meeting as a clear example of participation in inciting violence, spreading hatred, and interfering in Iran's internal affairs.

Baqaei said such behavior by the French government is in stark contradiction to the foundations of human rights and fundamental principles of international law and the UN Charter.

He stressed the necessity for all governments to adhere to their international legal obligations regarding the prevention and combating terrorism and to refrain from any assistance in organizing and financing terrorism, calling on the French government to abide by its commitments in this regard.
