According to The Iran Project,The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said in a post on X that he had held a phone conversation with the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian to condemn the Iranian drone and missile attack on Sunday night against Israel which was carried out in response to the recent Israeli regime's crimes in the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Borrell wrote that "On behalf of EU Member States, I condemn in the strongest terms the Iranian attacks against Israel and call on all parties to exercise utmost restraint."

"I just spoke to Iran’s FM Abdollahian to convey these messages & urge Iran not to escalate further," he added in his post.

The Israeli regime said that it was able to down some of the flying drones launched from Iran last night with the help of its Western allies including France and the United Kingdom.

Iran said Sunday that its retaliatory strikes on the occupied territories under the control of the Israeli regime ended with the strikes last night, warning of a “stronger” reaction if the Israeli regime responds.

Overnight on Saturday and early Sunday morning, Iran launched hundreds of retaliatory missiles and drones at targets in the occupied territories.

The attack came less than two weeks after Israeli warplanes bombed the consular annex of Iran's embassy in the Syrian capital, killing seven IRGC members who were on an advisory mission to the Arab country.
