Iran’s car production grows by 20% in 8 months
In the mentioned period, 107,000 pickups were produced in the country, which is a 43% growth compared to the same period last year, he added.
n addition, in the first 8 months of this year, about 2,300 vans were produced, which shows a 3% growth compared to the same period last year, the official said.
Tavakoli Lahijani went on to say that the production of about 25,000 heavy vehicles (trucks, lorries and trailers) and the growth of 26% in production in this area are other achievements worth mentioning.
“In this period, 394,000 motorcycles were also produced in the country, which is a 41% growth compared to the same period last year.”
Moreover, in the first 8 months of this year, about 205,000 cars were produced in the private sector, which shows an 80% increase compared to the production of 114,000 cars in the same period last year, he asserted.
The share of the private sector in car production in the country was 23%, he concluded.
