The Iran Project - Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi emphasized the importance of strengthening their interaction in accordance with the strategic 25-year partnership agreement between the two nations.

During a phone call on Sunday, the Iranian and Chinese foreign ministers exchanged views on international developments.

The ministers described bilateral cooperation as "positive and progressing".

Both diplomats acknowledged that the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement was moving in the right direction.

Wang Yi also shared China's perspective on the upcoming BRICS summit in South Africa and highlighted Iran's significance as a member of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Iran and China have finalized 16 understandings between the two countries to implement their 25-year roadmap for strategic partnership, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ehsan Khandozi said last year.

�Executive measures in the field of oil and gas, banking, investment and strategic projects were put on the agenda to be approved in the next meeting of the presidents of the two countries in the new future.�

The 25-year agreement, signed in March 2022, solidifies the Sino-Iranian Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and outlines their collaboration in various areas for the next quarter-century, despite unilateral sanctions imposed by the United States.

The deal officially documents the Sino-Iranian Comprehensive Strategic Partnership that had been announced during a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tehran in 2016.
