Iran, Turkiye FMs call for expansion of bilateral ties
In a telephone conversation on Sunday night, foreign ministers of Iran and Turkiye stress the enhancement of mutual cooperation.






During the phone talk, Hossein AmirAbdollahian congratulated Hakan Fidan on his appointment as the country's new top diplomat.

The ranian foreign minister expressed hope that the development of ties between the two countries would further expand during the new round of Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Amirabdollahian while inviting his Turkish counterpart to pay an official visit to Iran stressed the need to expedite the broadening of Tehran-Ankara relations.

Fidan, for his part, noted cooperation between Iran and Turkiye must continue on bilateral and regional levels, saying that he will do his best to help develop relations between the two neighboring countries.

Moreover, Amirabdollahian had felicitated Fidan in his new post on Twitter earlier on Sunday, describing him as a professional diplomat.

Hakan Fidan became Turkiyes foreign minister, replacing Mevlt avu?o?lu, after Erdogan won another term in office in a close competition with the opposition candidate Kemal K?l?daro?lu.

Erdogan took the oath of office at the parliament building in Ankara on Saturday, June 3, extending his administration into thethird decade.

Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro were among foreign dignitaries taking part in his swearing-in ceremony.
