Iran's top general has hailed the role played by the Army in protecting the country�s territorial integrity in the face of all hostile measures since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri made the remarks in a message to Iran Army Chief Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi to congratulate him on National Army Day, which this year falls on April 18.

�The contemporary history attests [to the fact that] the factor, which has guaranteed the sustainable and one-of-a-kind security of the Islamic homeland during the past 44 years and protected the country�s territorial integrity from enemies� harm is without a doubt � the epic and powerful role played by the Islamic Republic of Iran's Armed Forces, especially the valiant Army,� Baqeri said.

He noted that striking advances that the Iranian Army has made in various fields of defense and achieving modern and cutting-edge technologies by ground, air, naval and air defense forces have made the Army the forefront of the country�s power, deterrence, and security.

In a separate message to the Army chief earlier on Monday, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami highlighted the integrity of the Iranian Armed Forces, saying the IRGC, along with the Army, will continue to frustrate the country�s enemies.
