SHANA � The managing director of Lavan Refinery said the facility�s output met European standards after it underwent a plan to improve production processes.

According to the refinery�s website, Mohammad Ali Akhbari, who was talking during a visit of a delegation of parliamentarians to the facility, said the plan was complete and the refinery now supplied Euro-5 petrol.

He said now that the scheme had been finalized, the items produced in the refinery met European standards.

Akhbari said maintaining and sustaining production, achieving global markets, optimizing energy consumption and observing technical and environmental regulations and standards were the goals pursued by the refinery, adding: "Tapping the refinery�s potentialities and the capacity of domestic industrialists had led to self-sufficiency in the refinery in technical and engineering sectors.�
