IRNA � Iranian Ambassador to France described Iran's nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as the result of a successful, efficient and effective diplomacy in a complicated issue.

Speaking in a meeting with students of Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po), Bahram Qasemi said the importance of the JCPOA is clear for the United Nations, the European
Union and the Security Council as a historic achievement.

He further termed the JCPOA as a historic and effective achievement which was agreed by long-standing talks among UNSC member states and also with German.

Iranian deal showed that diplomacy is the art of overcoming some problems to prevent war and tension, he added.

The diplomat also said that the result of two-year intensive talks was not only success for Iran but a victory for world policy in multilateralism context.

Unfortunately, the new US administration changed its approach to address international issues and not only unilaterally withdrew from Iran nuclear deal but in an unprecedented act encourages other countries to violate international commitments and threatens to impose unilateral sanctions for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, he noted.

Qasemi went on to say that Iran has implemented all its commitments under the JCPOA which has also been confirmed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Meanwhile, the European countries have become committed to pave the way for implementation of the Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX) to benefit Iran of the economic advantages of the JCPOA.

This is while Iran expects Europe to implement INSTEX more rapidly.

The European side has not so far been able to implement its commitments as were predicted in the JCPOA, he said adding that European countries' rapid steps will be regarded as a serious criterion for Iran's policies.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Qasemi elaborated on measures taken by Iran to establish stability in the region, to fight terrorism and to maintain cooperation with other countries.

On May 8, 2018, Trump withdrew from the JCPOA, which was condemned by other parties to the 2015 agreement.

INSTEX was adopted by foreign ministers of the European trio on the sidelines of a European Union summit in the Romanian capital Bucharest on January 1.

INSTEX has been registered at the address of France's Economy and Finance Ministry in Paris. German banker Per Fischer has been chosen for a period of six months to run it. Also, a senior UK diplomat is expected to head the Supervisory Board.

Earlier, INSTEX president Per Fischer visited Iran to hold talks with Iranian stakeholders in a bid to work out details of the payment channel.

Trump's choice has faced opposition of the international community; namely Russia, China, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the European Union Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini.

This is while earlier, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) underlined the fact that Iran has complied with its commitments under the JCPOA.

Emphasizing the fact that the agency will continue to verify the non-diversion of nuclear material declared by Iran under its NPT Safeguards Agreement, the IAEA chief said, 'The implementation in Iran of the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement, Additional Protocol, and additional transparency measures under the JCPOA amounts to the most robust verification system in existence any here in the world.'
