Press TV thorn in side of Zionist media: Mark Glenn

Describing Press TV as a thorn in the side of Zionist media, an analyst says the Western campaign against Iranian news outlets is aimed at withholding the truth from people,Press TVreports.
Lies and bad information are like a drug that can be used to seduce people and to rob them of their ability to see and think clearly and the truth is obviously an antidote to that drug, said Mark Glenn, with the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, on Sunday.

Glenn said the Western Zionist media use misleading information to keep people under their sway, adding that Press TV has been a real thorn in the side of Zionist media because the channel has caused real problems for them by revealing the truth.

Press TV and other Iranian channels have come under an unprecedented wave of attacks by European governments and satellite companies since January 2012. They were taken off air in several Western countries, including Britain, France, Germany and Spain.

European satellite companies say they are complying with anti-Iran sanctions. However, EU foreign policy chief's spokesman, Michael Mann, has told Press TV that sanctions do not apply to media.

Glenn said Press TV and other similar media outlets have played significant roles in covering realities on the ground in countries such as Syria, which has led to major developments such as Russia sticking to its arms deal with the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

During an interview with Lebanons al-Manar TV in late May, al-Assad said Damascus was already in possession of the first batch of S-300 missile defense systems from Russia and the second shipment of the Russian systems would be delivered to Syria soon.

This has resulted in all sorts of backlash, including the American public being opposed to sending American troops into Syria, the political analyst added.
Truth is a very, very powerful serum and a very, very powerful antidote. A little bit goes a long way and these evildoers know this and this is the reason why they have got to shut down all outlets of truth that threaten their international agenda, Glenn added.
On June 19, communications satellite service provider Intelsat said it would no longer provide services to Iranian channels, including the English-language news channel Press TV. The decision has been made under the pretext that the company should be abiding by the sanctions against the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Intelsat noted that it has been ordered by the US government to avoid extending IRIBs license, saying it would stop providing services to Iranian channels as of July 1.

The Israeli lobby in the United States has publicly supported European attempts to shut down Press TV.
