IRNA - Iraq and Iran will sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) on oil, gas, electrical and transport cooperation among other sectors, Iraqi foreign minister said on Sunday ahead of Iranian president�s landmark visit to the western neighbour.

'These MoU can have good impacts on expanding bilateral relations in various sectors such as oil, gas, electricity, visa, trade, rail and land transport, agriculture, health, banking ties, industries as well as pilgrims and passenger exchange,� said Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim during a press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Baghdad on Sunday.

�We are looking forward to holding important negotiations between Iranian and Iraqi presidents Hassan Rouhani and Barham Salih, respectively on Monday,' he added.

Al-Hakim said Baghdad is ready to create joint industrial parks with Iran. He also said his country wants to use technical and technological capabilities of Iran to train its human resources and revive Iraq�s industry.

The Iraqi official also thanked Iran for aiding Iraq in defeating the Daesh terrorists, saying �Iran�s help has been obvious'.
