IRNA - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, pointing to the development of relations between Tehran and Baku, says that his country is supporting Rasht-Astara rail project to complete the North-South Corridor as soon as possible.

Shahin Mustafayev said on Wednesday evening at the official ceremony of the launch of Qazvin-Rasht railway, which was held at the presence of the Iranian President in Rasht, , 'Our friendship with Iran in recent years has been expanding rapidly and bilateral relations at the regional and international levels have been expanded and strengthened.'

He acknowledged the fundamental factor in the development of relations between the two countries the will of the Presidents of two nations and their close friendship.

He stated, 'In the new stage of cooperation between the two countries, there are concrete cooperation and planning in this connection and there are many achievements.'
