IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that the Iranian Supreme Leader, government and Majlis are resolved to promote brotherly ties with Iraq in all fields.

In a meeting with the Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, President Rouhani highlighted the two countries� mutual cooperation for regional stability, fighting terrorism and boosting bilateral relations.

�Iraqi officials� visits to Iran are beneficial for the two countries� bilateral relations,� he said, noting that Iraq and Iran�s stability mutually influence each other.

The two nations� historic relations and massive visits by the tourists and pilgrims indicate the two nation�s cultural cohesion and their interests in each other.

Halbousi, for his part, stressed the need for promoting bilateral relations, saying, �We are opposed to any sanctions against the Iranian nation.�

Appreciating Iran for its supports to Iraq in fighting terrorist groups, he said that Iraq believes promoting Iran-Iraq ties will contribute to regional stability.
