The 37th session of UNESCO World Heritage Committee is to assess Irans two suggested files for a possible inscription on the World Heritage list.The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is slated to review the files of Irans Golestan Palace and Meymand Cave Village along with 32 other submitted sites from around the world.
This years summit is also to review the conflict situations of 102 registered spots in the world among which Irans three sites named to be in critical conditions.
Imam Squareand Friday Mosque in Isfahan and Bam ancient citadel in Kerman are in UNESCOs list to be examined for their current situations.
The occurred natural disaster in Bam threatened the site to be one of high profile examples of the vulnerability of cultural heritage worldwide.
The World Heritage Committee inscribed Irans Friday Mosque and Gonbad-e Qabus Tower during its 36th session held in St. Petersburg, Russia, from June 24 to July 6, 2012.
Armenian monastic ensembles of Iran, Bam and its cultural landscape, Bisotoun, Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Pasargadae, Persepolis, Sheikh Safi al-din shrine, Shoushtar historical hydraulic system, Soltaniyeh, Tabriz historic bazaar complex, Takht-e Soleiman, Tchogha Zanbil and the Persian garden are the other Iranian historical heritage inscribed on UNESCOs World Heritage List.
World Heritage site is a title that is given to the locations, which have "outstanding universal value" to all of humanity, according to the UNESCO description.
The 37th session of the World Heritage Committee will be held from June 16 to 27, 2013 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
