IRNA � The Chinese president on Tuesday underlined improvement of cooperation with Iran.

China is committed to foster relations with Iran, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with new Iranian Ambassador to China Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh.

The Chinese president described Iran and China as two countries that enjoy lots of historical and cultural commonalities.

In the meantime, the Iranian envoy, for his part, described the two countries' relations as friendly.

During the meeting, the Iranian envoy submitted his credentials to the Chinese president.
