IRNA � Iraqi President Barham Salih, who was speaking during a ceremony on Saturday marking Iraq�s hard-won victory over Daesh terrorist group, thanked Iran's support for Baghdad over the three year-long war.

Salih hailed Iran�s role as a neighboring, friendly and allied country.

He also appreciated the stands of Iraqi religious leaders, the efforts by the country�s armed forces and Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) in bringing about this victory for the Iraqi nation.

On Dec 10 last year, the then Iraqi prime minister announced the country�s victory over Daesh Takfiri terrorist group.
