November�20, The Iran Project - During a ceremony in the capital Tehran on Tuesday (Nov. 20), Iranian�Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami�unveiled an indigenous�armored military vehicle, dubbed Toofan (hurricane).

The armored, mine resistant and ambush protected vehicle has been developed by local experts at the Defense Ministry, designed to carry out logistical and combat missions in the theater.

Elaborating on features of the military truck,�the defense chief stated that the tactical personnel carrier has been manufactured given the needs of the Iranian forces for a faster vehicle capable of climbing inclines and traverses with a steep slope.

Toofan will be delivered to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force.

Toofan is a four-wheel drive truck with protection against land mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) with explosion power of several kilograms of TNT equivalent.

According to IRNA, the defense minister reiterated that�the American sanctions have failed to slow down the nation�s progress, and that the country will manage to prevail over the conditions created by the bans at a fast pace.

"Today, we rely on indigenous capabilities," General Hatami said, stressing that the country's current conditions are better compared to the situation before the re-imposition of the sanctions.

He further added that we will overcome the conditions brought about by the sanctions faster and more easily.

In a speech on the same day,�Amir Hatami highlighted the Army�s full preparedness to defend the country against foreign threats and said the force is enjoying the best conditions.

"Nobody allows themselves to have a greedy eye on the areas protected by it (the Army)," he said, noting, "However, those who are friends with the Iranian people are not afraid of the Army."

Addressing the Basij forces of Tehran province at the Mausoleum of Imam Khomeini (RA) on Tuesday (Nov. 20),�Iran's Basij Commander Brigadier General Gholam-Hossein Gheibparvar said that US� psychological and economic war will not affect Iranian nation, but it will lead to the collapse of the United States.

The United States has not the ability to manage its internal affairs, yet it is deciding for other countries, he stated.

The US unilaterally abandoned a 2015 multilateral nuclear deal with Iran on May 8. Ever since, it has reinstated all the sanctions it had removed under the deal, officially named the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
