Irans ambassador to Damascus hails the Syrian Army's recent recapturing of the strategic town of al-Qusayr, saying the triumph has brought stability to the crisis-hit country.The recent victories by the Syrian Army and popular forces in al-Qusayr region have brought stability to Syria. This will ease peoples sufferings, Mohammad-Reza Raouf-Sheibani said in a meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi on Thursday.
He added that the Syrian peoples resistance against international plots over the past two years is in itself a victory over the countrys enemies.
The Syrian Army managed to fully recapture the western town of al-Qusayr, an important center and supply route for the foreign-sponsored militants fighting against the Arab state, following three weeks of combat, Syrias state television reported on Wednesday.
Many of the foreign-backed militants and members of the armed groups were reportedly killed or injured during the Syrian Army operation to clean Qusayr from terrorists.
Halqi, for his part, appreciated Irans support for Syria, adding that the victories scored by the Syrian Army, particularly in Qusayr region, paved the way to clear a major hub of terrorists backed by the Israeli regime.
Syrias recent military and political victories have played a leading role in increasing public support for the Syrian government, the premier added.
A day after Syrian Army troops fully purged Qusayr from foreign-sponsored militants, they took control of al-Daba'a town in the central province of Homs.
Syria has been gripped by a deadly unrest since March 2011, and many people, including large numbers of government forces, have been killed in the violence.
Damascus says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
