SHANA -- The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) denied rumors that the price of fuels, including gasoline, has increased in Iran amid bulging domestic consumption in summer. ?

Speaking in a radio interview, Mohammad Reza Mousavikhah said, �The rumors concerning increase price of energy carriers in the country are baseless.�

�Unfortunately, some people spread rumors in social media which causes worries in public opinion,� he added.

He noted that the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum would directly inform the general public about any fuel price policies.

�So far, there have been no discussions as to increase fuel prices or rationing it in the government cabinet or the parliament,� the official went on to add.

He also emphasized that there were no shortages in terms of foreign exchange and energy sources in the country, adding: "Currently, the status of the stockpiles of petroleum products, such as gasoline, gasoil, and so on, is very good in the country.�
