MNA � Iranian Parliamentary Director General for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tue., Iran�s presence in Syria is within Tehran-Damascus relations and no country is allowed to meddle with this matter.







Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Iran Ian Biggs, during which they also discussed the fifty years of bilateral relations, including parliamentary ties between Iran and Australia.

�The presence of Iran's military advisers in Syria is within the framework of the Tehran-Damascus relations and nobody�is allowed to intervene in this matter,� Amir-Abdollahian said in the meeting.

Pointing to other regional and international developments, he stressed the importance of political solutions to solve regional and international problems.

He said that there is no military solution to the crisis in Yemen, stressing that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports a political solution to help Syria get out of the crisis.

Amir-Abdollahian also praised the important role of Ansarullah and his allies in Yemen in defending Yemen's independence and preserving its security.

The Iranian parliamentary official also congratulated the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries, saying that the expansion of bilateral tourism relations indicates the developed ties between two nations.

Referring to the difficult conditions of some Iranians in the Australian refugee camps, he called for paying more attention to their situation.

Ian Biggs, for his part, hailed the long-standing relations between the two countries, saying Australia seeks expansion of ties in all fields.

Australia is using parliamentary diplomacy to its full potential to expand its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, Biggs continued.

Emphasizing the importance of international agreements, the Australian ambassador pointed out that preserving Iran nuclear deal as a diplomatic achievement for the international community is essential.

He also noted that the Australian prime minister had regretted the US withdrawal�from the JCPOA.

He further hailed Iran�s role in the fight against terrorism.

The Australian ambassador also noted that the Middle East region�s affairs are of great importance to Australia and his country always follows the latest developments in the region.

According to the official website of the Australian embassy in Iran, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of unbroken diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Embassy in Tehran, in cooperation with�Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs,�will hold an Historical Document Exhibition. The exhibition will be held in September�and will feature interesting photos and documents from the history of the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
