IRNA - Iran's minister of sports and youth on Sunday conferred with secretary general of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).


During the meeting, Masoud Soltanifar praised Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura' attempts to help secure presence of Muslim football players in the world championships while wearing Hijab.

He expressed the hope that with the support of FIFA, the frozen assets of Football Federation of Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) are released sooner.

Soltanifar arrived in Saint Petersburg on Friday to watch Iran's soccer games in FIFA World Cup 2018.

Iran is in Group B of the World Cup with Spain, Portugal, and Morocco and tops the list after winning Morocco on Friday (1-0).
