IRNA - Ali Akbar Velayati, an international affairs advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei arrived in Damascus Monday night to participate in an international conference dubbed 'Quds, Our Approach and Destination'.


Velayati and his accompanying delegation were greeted at the Damascus international airport by Syrian Minister of Endowments Mohammed Abdul-Sattar al-Seyyed, officials in charge of some Iranian organizations based in Damascus and a number of Syrian political and religious officials.

Velayati, a former foreign minister is also secretary general of the World Assembly of Islamic Awakening.

The two day conference is to open in the Syrian capital city Tuesday.
