Iran Condemns Kabul Suicide Attack

Tasnim - Irans Foreign Ministry condemned a terrorist attack on a Shiite gathering in the Afghan capital of Kabul that killed at least seven people on Friday.

In a statement on Friday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi condemned the deadly terrorist attack on people in Kabul, expressing condolences to the Afghan government, nation, and families of victims of the blind crime.

At least seven people were killed and several others wounded in Kabul on Friday morning after a suicide bomber blew himself up while trying to enter a gathering commemorating the anniversary of the death of Abdul Ali Mazari, a former leader of the mainly Shiite Hazara community. Mazari was killed by the Taliban in 1995.

The local TOLO news said the explosion occurred close to Mosalla-e-Mazari area in Kabul's sixth district.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Kabul has seen a spate of deadly attacks carried out by both the Taliban and Daesh (ISIL, also known as ISIS) terrorist group in recent months.
